Quixotic
I wanted to figure out how to do the mood thing. Figured it out....so many choices. I didn't know what this meant. It means absurdly chivalric (like Don Quixote).

Anyway, on the kid sleeping thing. I had a friend with a 5 year old who wouldn't stay in his room at night. She asked the doctor and, brace yourself mothers, he said to lock the kid in his room. My friend was appalled but tried it. She explained to the kid what she was going to do and locked him in. The next morning she was terrified of what she would find but she found him curled up sleeping like a baby.

Anyway, Grace I can't believe that you missed the Emmys. I must see I've seen the Bret Michaels slut show a couple of times. It is quite train wreckish. I shouldn't admit this but I do watch The Girls Next Door on an all too frequent basis. I'm not sure why. I think watching those dumb girls and Hugh Hefner walking around with his hair all rumpled and not knowing what's going on like the 80 year old man he is is very amusing.

I think that if a rat makes David happy that is great. I just have to warn you that I may never come to your house again due to my crippling phobia of rats. Bring on snakes, spiders, etc. but rats. Ugh

Honestly, Squeaky really isn't that bad. Come on AnneMarie. You would love him! I took him out last night, I'm sad when he stays in the cage all day, and held him for a couple of minutes. We feed him the nutrition pellets from the pet store made from rodents. He gets a couple of those everyday...and then I always give him several Cheerios when I put him back in the cage. He really is easy to take care of. I could probably leave him at the house for 3-4 days without worrying about food or water.

Gracie and Kelly, I feel guilty. I haven't read a book in the longest time. I love it when you talk about what you are reading. It inspires me for at least a minute!!! I think that I am getting sick. My nose is all stuffed up and my throat is itchy and my ears are plugged. Not fun being sick and pregnant. I want the good drugs!! My next appointment is Tuesday. I think that we are going to "book" the Regency! I am anxious to see if I have gained any weight. I only weigh at the dr.'s.

Flying to St. Louis Friday night for a funeral in Olney, IL on Saturday. One of my dad's cousins, passed away and funeral and service are Saturday. So very quick trip...up Friday night and home Saturday night. Stephen and David are not going to go this trip. So, just mom, Carol and myself.

Thanks for telling me about Quixotic. I never knew.

We watched the Scott Baio thing.
I took the boys to the petstore the other day, we like to call it our indoor zoo. Ours has a doggie daycare, cats, fish, snakes, turtles, hamsters, geckos, birdies, and what do you know, rats. We saw a blue rat and some other kind of rat. They are really ugly. But hey, if it makes you happy.
We have obviously always had problems with Ryan. And we have always been in disagreement with how to confine him to his room. Frank wanted to put a hook and eye on the outside of his door. He thinks that with the dooor close I won't be able to hear Ryan and if Ryan can't open the door then he will jsut go back to bed. This was when he was waking up, not just sleeping walking/talking. I thought that was borderline child abuse. I went to the doctor to hear her say that that was a horrible idea and she suggested turning the doorknobs around on the door so that we could lock it from the outside. What happens if there is a fire or an intruder or if they need something? I just think that is crazy. I thought that not being able to get the door open would cause panic attacks. Atleast with the gate he can see us and see our room and see our door open and know where we are. A friend of ours did that as well, lock the door, and it worked once. Now they just have to threaten and it works.

We do have David's lock turned around, but have never used it. Stephen is all for locking him in his room. I am ABSOLUTELY against it. I don't care if David gets up. I am happy about the rat. David sleeps in there...with the door wide open and then in the morning comes to our room to get us up! He goes to bed at 8 pm (most nights) and then is usually up at 6:30 am
